Outline Of The Interview Today:
1. Greet the applicant and introduce yourself
2. Explain the interview’s purpose:
· To help you learn more about the applicant’s
background and experience.
· To help the applicant understand the position and

3. Provide an overview of the interview plan, which is:
· Review their CV: jobs/education/experiences.

Review the candidates work history:
Work through the CV with the candidate, and for 2-3 most recent roles, understand:
- Their duties/responsibilities in role
- What they enjoyed/did not enjoy about role
- Reasons for leaving
- Any gaps in their work history
Understand why the candidate applied for this role:
- What do you know about the role?
- What do you know about WSL?
- What attracted you to the position/what motivated you to apply?
Find out more about the candidate:
- What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
- What 3 words would a friend/family member use?
- What do you feel are your strongest attributes/strengths for this role?
- What are your long term career goals?
Behavioural Questions
Understanding past behaviour is our best indicator of future job performance.
Asking specific questions about how they have reacted to different situations in the past, helps us gauge how effective they would be handling situations effectively in this role
Resilience
- What sorts of situations create pressure for you?
- How do you react under pressure/in a stressful situation?
- Give me an example of when you were responsible for an error or mistake. What was the outcome? What, if anything, would you do differently?
Customer Service
- Tell me about a time where you have gone above and beyond the call of duty for a customer?
- What did you do for them, and what was the outcome?
- How do you go about establishing rapport with a customer?
- What have you done to gain their confidence? Give an example.
Team Work
- Tell me about a time when you helped others in your team achieve a goal together.
- What role did you play, and what was the outcome for the team?
Self-Improvement and Development
- If there was one area you've always wanted to improve in, what would that be? What have you done to improve this?
Copy Centre Specialist
- Do you feel comfortable around large, sometimes complex machinery? What prior experience do you have with this type of equipment?
- In a busy role such as Copy Centre - if you had a queue of 10 people waiting for photocopying, how would you manage this scenario? What would you do?
Technology Furniture Specialist
- What does solution selling mean to you? How would you describe it?
- How do you go about establishing rapport with a customer? What have you done to gain their confidence? Give an example.
- Tell me about a time when you have provided technical knowledge to a customer and had a positive outcome?
- Why do you want to sell our range of technical products? What interests you about these type of products?
- Thank them for coming in to interview with you
- Ask them if they have any questions
- Explain the timeframes of when you will call them with the outcome of the interview
- Walk the candidate out
